Swarnalatha

Swarnalatha (29 April 1973 – 12 September 2010) was an Indian playback singer. In a career spanning almost 22 years (from 1987 until her death), she recorded over 10,000 songs in many Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, and Badaga.

She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her rendition of the song "Porale Ponnuthayi" from the film Karuththamma. The song was composed by A. R. Rahman, under whose musical direction she recorded many memorable songs. She was also the first female playback singer to receive a National Award in A. R. Rahman Music.

Ellsberg Lawyers Weigh New Motion for Dismissal; Ellsberg's Attorneys May Enter Another Motion to Dismiss Case Source of Name Unclear

Defense attys in Pentagon papers case are considering move for dismissal of case against D Ellsberg and A J Russo Jr because of rept that office of D Ellsberg's former psychiatrist Dr L J Fielding had been broken into by men associated with Govt; Ellsberg says on Apr 29 that at this late stage he would rather have case go to jury than have it dismissed by Judge W M Byrne Jr; Byrne will be presented with affidavit on Apr 30 confirming that Fielding's office was broken into; none of Ellsberg's records were missing and it is assumed that burglars copied or photographed them; defense has obtained affidavit from Fielding that says that his office was visited twice during last part of July, '71, and that he on both occasions refused to discuss Ellsberg with agents pleading doctor-patient relationship
