NEW-YORK. -- Detectives raided 4O New Street, an alleged "bucket shop." yesterday and seized three phonographs and $814, and arrested four men, George W. Rumble, Charles Matthews, Monroe Williams, and Frank Cole. Rumble, the proprietor of the place, and Matthews, the cashier, were held in the Jefferson Market Police Court yesterday for violating the gambling law.

The Central Labor Federation is making strenuous efforts to raise money to help the Socialists in Germany to carry on their campaign for the approaching parliamentary elections. The reports from the various unions at yesterday's meeting, however, were not very encouraging, as only $45 had been raised, and at least 200 times that amount is needed.
